English Language Learning (ELL) instruction is provided for immigrants and refugees who are learning English. ELL classes, from pre-literacy level to the advanced level, help students develop speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar skills to communicate effectively in English. Osseo ABE offers six levels of ELL Classes from beginning to advanced. During registration student will take Reading and Listening tests, and then are placed in a class that best meets their needs.

ELL classes are offered at the Northwest Family Service Center and Willow Lane Early Childhood Center.

  • Not enrolled in K-12 services
  • 17 or older
  • Meet program assessment criteria
  • Must have a primary language other than English
  • Must maintain 75% attendance
